Day 24

Coronavirus Global Prayer Devotion – 19 April 2020

Prayer focus – REPENTANCE
(Greek – Metanoia -change of heart, 180 degrees turn )

Let’s pray-

Father this day we humble ourselves before You, for Lord You are gracious and compassionate. You will not turn Your face from us if we return to You. (2 Chronicles 30:9 b)

Lord all of us, as the nations of the world have sinned against You. We want to repent of our own and our nations sins before You our God.

(Take time to examine your own hearts and lives before the Lord – ask His Holy Spirit to show you the sins and condition of your own heart – and as He does it – repent from deep within – remembering that our God is a holy God)

Lord Your word says that when You shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence (coronavirus) among Your people, if we, Your people, who are called by Your name, will humble ourselves and pray and seek Your face and turn from our own wicked ways, then You will hear from heaven, and will forgive our sins and will heal our land.(2 Chronicles 7:13,14 )

Father You called king David a man after Your own heart. (Acts 13:22) Oh Lord he also sinned against You and today we want to use his words of repentance in Psalm 51 to repent to You, our God.

“Lord Have mercy on us , Oh God, because of Your unfailing love. Because of Your great compassion, blot out the stain of our sins. Wash us clean from our guilt. Purify us from our sins. For we recognise our rebellion; it haunts us day and night. Against You, and You alone, have we sinned; we have done what is evil in Your sight. You will be proved right in what You say, and Your judgment against us is just. For we were born sinners — yes, from the moment our mothers conceived us . But You desire honesty from the womb, teaching us wisdom even there. Purify us from our sins, and we will be clean; wash us , and we will be whiter than snow. Oh, give us back our joy again; You have broken us – now let us rejoice. Don’t keep looking at our sins. Remove the stain of our guilt. Create in us a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within us. Do not banish us from Your presence, and don’t take Your Holy Spirit from us. Restore to us the joy of Your salvation, and make us willing to obey You. Then we will teach Your ways to rebels, and they will return to You. (‭‭Psalms‬ ‭51 :1-13 ‭NLT‬‬)

Forgive us for shedding blood, O God who saves; then we will joyfully sing of Your forgiveness.(‭‭Psalms‬ ‭51 :14 ‭NLT‬‬) Forgive us Lord for all the unborn babies that our nations have killed. Forgive us for all the murders and for all the innocent blood spilled. For the blood spilled in wars. Forgive us also for the hatred against one another.

Lord forgive us for our pride – for thinking that we are better than others, for not bowing our knees to You the Creator of all. Lord forgive us for judging one another, You have not called us to judge but to love with a love that covers and heals. (Matthew 7:1,1 Peter 4:8) Lord forgive us for not loving You or one another – we broke the two most important commandments that You have given us. Yes Lord we broke the royal law.(Matthew 22:36-40, James 2:8 )

Lord forgive us for our unbelief.(John16:9,Hebrews 3:12)

Lord forgive us for our hard, wicked hearts and the wicked words spoken over our lips. (Proverbs 10:19)For Lord it is from out of our hearts that evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, envy, slander, pride, foolishness and all vile things come from.( Mark‬ ‭7:21-23‬ ‭NLT‬‬)Lord forgive us! Lord cleanse our hearts.

Father forgive us for putting our trust in men and not in You! (Psalms 118:8)

Father forgive us for the stealing, the corruption and the many broken covenants – our yes is not yes and our no is not no – we lie and deceive, forgive us. (‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:37)

Lord forgive us for falling into the same sins as Sodom – who You destroyed. For behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had arrogance, abundant food and careless ease, but she did not help the poor and needy.(Ezekiel 16:49). Lord have great mercy – forgive us Lord for not caring for the poor and the needy. Open our hearts in this time to love and care for them as many are suffering even more because of this virus.

Lord forgive us for our sexual immorality and idolatry -Forgive us Lord we have sinned Your word says – that wrongdoers will not inherit Your kingdom. Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.(1 Corinthians 6:9-10 NIV) Oh Lord have mercy we are guilty of all these sins and we ask that You would forgive us in Your great mercy! Lord we ask that Your Holy Spirit would convict many across the earth of their sins – Lord in Your great mercy bring them to repentance. Lord let them turn to You.

Forgive us for our occult practices – for worshiping and sacrificing to demons (Deuteronomy 32:17). For witchcraft, divination, sorcery, ancestral worship, talking to mediums – Lord we provoked You to anger , forgive us. ( 2 Chronicles 33:6)Lord cleanse our nations and the land we live on.

Unseal our lips, O Lord, that our mouths may praise You. You do not desire a sacrifice, or we would offer one. You do not want a burnt offering. The sacrifice You desire are broken spirits. You will not reject broken and repentant hearts , Oh God. Look with favour on us and help us …”
(‭‭Psalms‬ ‭51: 15-17 ‭NLT‬‬)

Oh Lord we have sinned before You, please accept our repentance and heal our nations. Lord please destroy this coronavirus pestilence across the nations.

We pray this in the Name above all Names , the Name of our Saviour
JESUS CHRIST.

Amen

Asking the Lord

Last night we had a revival meetings as we were praying I was asking the Lord what does revival look like this is what I heard “revival is when everyone in the body of Christ does their part as we listen to the Holy Spirit in our lives families homes our fellowships our work our schools”
The Holy Spirit will lead us as he did in the early church much of the early church didn’t have the New Testament to look at all they had was the Holy Spirit to lead them how much more do we need the Holy Spirit to lead us today we have the word of God which helps to guide us and the Holy Spirit to lead us into our Book of acts for today. My prayer is that we would all be filled with the Holy Spirit and every day as we are going into a World of hurting and dying people and we would agree with God Jesus is the answer.

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.”
Ephesians 1:3-10 NIV

Prophetic Acts:

Hearing God’s Voice and acting

In the Bible and in the world today we can see God’s supernatural power come to the natural through prophetic acts.  What is a prophetic act?  In the Bible, a prophet was someone who heard from God and spoke to the people what God has said.  A prophetic act is hearing from God and acting on what God has said.  Have you ever heard about Joshua winning the battle of Jericho or Namen washing himself in the Jordan River.  They heard and in faith they acted.  This is how the super comes to the natural, if we would all just do what we hear God speaking to us, we would see his power come.  What do you think Jesus birth was about?  The Holy Spirit spoke to Mary and she agreed with God and the birth of Christ came.  Have you ever thought that God spoke to you and then when you heard it you thought that it doesn’t make any sense, so you didn’t do it.  I can tell you what happened, nothing.  The next time you think God is speaking to you just do it and watch what happens, he might say you need to pray for that person or you need to encourage that person or you need to call someone or you need to write a letter and encourage them, just do it and see what happens.  God wants to use you to reach others so be faithful and let him.  Now let me pray for you, Father I pray that we would not lean on our own understanding but in all our ways we would acknowledge you and give you your rightful place.  Lord we thank you for your presence and for your desire to touch and reach people.  Father now use us in Jesus name.  Amen

Why I started using anointing oil.  The first time I ever used anointing oil was in the nation of Mongolia, a friend of mine and I traveled to Mongolia in 1990, at that time the country was still closed to ministry.  God spoke to us about anointing the government square in the downtown of the capital.  The Lord told us go and anoint all four corners of the government square and then go to the center of the square and make a declaration to invite the Lord into this nation and that one day we would preach the gospel from this spot.  Within six months we were standing in that very spot declaring Jesus Christ is Lord and ministering to the people there.  At the time we went, early 1990, there were only two known believers in the nation and within the next five trips we baptized the first 36 believers and then got to see Christ build his church in that nation.  Now there are between 50,000 and 70,000 believers in the nation and the church is strong.  All Glory to God.
